99 INTRUDER ALL MEMBERS SQUADRON HELP ME REGISTER

VA-165 Monument in Downtown Oak Harbor
Published on: Friday, June 10, 2022

On Pioneer Way, just across from the old Chriss Bakery and China
Harbor/Zorros, is a concrete pillar with the VA-165 logo in brass mounted on
top. There is nothing else on the marker no words, dates,
etc. The Oak Harbor Main Street folks, along with the PNW Museum staff, are
seeking to find out the history of this marker for the City-wide data base they
are preparing. Im trying to assist them, and cast about to find out how/when
it got there and the background on it. Speculation is that it was placed
sometime around the squadrons decom in 1996.

If you have any knowledge of it's origin, please contact me at
