Recently,
Jeff Davis, our Intruder Association DC Area Regional Director, announced his
immediate need to step down from this position.� Our Intruder Association
Board of Directors accepted this resignation and wish to extend our thanks to
Jeff for serving in this position for many years.�

We
received an immediate offer for help with this vacancy, and this individual has
emerged as the only candidate to be on the ballot.� Col. Raymond M.
�Bones� Burns has been very active among the DC Area Intruders and is a regular
attendee at our biennial reunions.� A retired Marine Colonel and former
Bombardier/Navigator, Bones is no stranger to the Intruder Association and the
DC Area Intruders.� Known for being the guy who rallies the DC Area
Intruders to attend regular luncheons at Fort Myer Officers� Club, Col. Burns
also regularly attends all of the biennial reunions and stays very active in
the Intruder community as well as the Marine Corps Aviation Association.�
His biography is attached.

In
accordance with our By-Laws and Administrative Manual, a Regional Director must
be elected by a majority of the membership at-large.� Normally, the
balloting ends on the first day of our biennial reunion with the election
occurring during the Saturday morning business meeting.� This year, due to
the pandemic and resulting reunion date change, we are unable to conduct this
business at the reunion.� Instead, we are polling the membership at-large
via email.� Since Colo. Burns will be running unopposed, your voting
responsibility is simply to vote �Yes� if you are in favor of electing Bones to
be our DC Area Regional Director, �No� if you are opposed to selecting Bones,
or �Write-in� if you wish to name somebody else to fill the position.� A
simple majority will be needed to select our DC Area Regional Director from the
votes received.� Voting instructions are as follows:

To
cast your vote for DC Area Regional Director as described above, simply reply
to this email and state �Yes�, �No�, or �Write-in�.� If you select
�Write-in�, you must also provide the name of the individual you would prefer
to select.� All votes must be received not later than midnight PDT on 30
April (as that would have been the closing time of our ballot had we been at our
reunion in San Diego).� Final results of the election will be posted
within seven days.
