The End of Prostate Cancer & Veterans Prostate Cancer Awareness (VPCa) Survey
Published on: Tuesday, November 26, 2019

'99 Intruder Association

ZERO The End of Prostate Cancer (www.zerocancer.org)
and Veterans Prostate Cancer Awareness (VPCa) (www.vetsprostate.org)
have partnered to educate Veterans and raise awareness about their risk of
prostate cancer.

We have developed a short 10-minute survey we are asking you
to distribute to your membership. This Veterans Prostate Cancer survey can be
found at www.zerocancer.org/vetssurvey
and is intended to be an informal assessment that seeks to gain insight on the
prevalence of the disease and other cancers among the Veteran population. The
simple introductory survey results will be made available to your organization
and we will provide you any additional information you require. Prostate Cancer
is the number one diagnosed cancer within the VA system with over 13,000 cases
a year diagnosed. Today there are over 489,000 men living with the disease
within the VA system and over 16,000 with an advanced metastatic form or the
disease.

Recent studies and investigations are reporting through a
number of articles a higher than normal prevalence of cancer among Veterans. We
are contacting you as your organization has a membership that consists
primarily of Veterans who should be aware of screening recommendations and
disease risk.

It is suspected that the Veteran population is at a higher
risk of developing prostate cancer due to exposure to hazardous materials and
job-related exposures. Furthermore, the aviation community may have an even
higher incidence rate than the general Veteran population.

With your assistance and the data collected in this survey,
we will work to reach Veterans receiving care through the Veterans Health
Administration, TRICARE, or through their own personal insurance coverage.

We are asking that Veterans complete this simple, 10-minute
anonymous survey which will help us collect a population incidence rate
estimate and insights into how many Veterans have a cancer diagnosis and how
many are aviators.

Please let us know if you are willing to join our efforts by
publishing the attached link to our Veterans Prostate Cancer survey.
Additionally, we would welcome the opportunity to work with your organization
to publish an editorial or articles regarding the high incidence rate of
prostate cancer being diagnosed in the Veteran population as well as general
mens health information.

Thank you for your support and consideration.

 VETERANS PROSTATE CANCER SURVEY

Veterans have
an incidence rate for prostate cancer that is approximately twice that of the
general population. ZERO The End of Prostate Cancer (ZERO) and Veterans
Prostate Cancer Awareness (VPCa) are united in the effort to bring the Veterans
community the resources, tools, and education needed to fight and prevent the
disease. The survey can be found at the url:

www.zerocancer.org/vetssurvey

Your feedback is critical to
help us provide the most impactful programs to save lives from prostate cancer
and stop pain and suffering. ZERO and VPCa will use this information to help
make future decisions on how best to meet the educational and awareness needs
of prostate cancer patients.

Please know this survey is
completely anonymous unless you decide to provide your contact information at
the end of the survey. The survey should only take 10 minutes to
complete. If you have questions or concerns about how ZERO collects, uses,
secures, and gives you control over your personal information, please refer to ZEROs privacy policy, or contact
us directly
